Sponsoring

Bostik decided to enter competition sponsoring in 2002. Sail racing was chosen, first because our product ranges include adhesive and sealants for the marine industry, but also because this sport matches Bostik’s values : individual talent combined with team spirit, boldness and courage, technical expertise and perseverance.

Charles Caudrelier, a young and talented Britton sailor, was appointed skipper of a Figaro Bénéteau solo yacht flying the Bostik colours. Caudrelier made us discover the fascinating world of solo racing and share intense emotions, especially during races on the Figaro Solo circuit, which is recognized as the world championship of single-handed sailing.

Most well known skippers such as Michel Desjoyaux, Alain Gautier or Loïc Peyron consider the Figaro championship as the most demanding : during each race, 40 to 50 experienced shipmen battle individually on their identical one-design 30 feet boats, for an equal and fair competition where human qualities and experience make the winner, more than equipment sophistication.

Over the last 3 seasons, Charles Caudrelier led the race on several occasions, and draw the attention on the Bostik ship, creating emotion and enthusiasm within the company personnel. The passion born from this commitment is particularly federative inside Bostik.

Charles Caudrelier has ended the 2004 season on a high note, winning the mythical ‘Figaro Solitaire’ solo race.

Charles Caudrelier and the Bostik yacht also wear the colours of the « Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque » society, another noble cause which we are very proud of : helping underprivileged children to undergo life-saving heart surgery.
