There are numerous acoustic mat products in the market place from a number of manufacturers and suppliers. The make up of these mats vary, though tend to consist predominantly of rubber. Their treatments and compositions vary considerably resulting in some products that are relatively easy to bond to, while others are very difficult.
Recommendation for fixing of mat to the substrate
The primary substrate usually consists of concrete, screed, or compressed fibre cement sheet. The appropriate preparation should be undertaken to prepare the floor to the requirements of the adhesive chosen as laid out in the Technical Data Sheet.
