We are thrilled to announce the start of a new chapter for Bostik and Arkema in Japan
This Monday, February 1st 2021, the Nitta Gelatin Adhesive business acquisition was completed, and is now fully integrated as Bostik-Nitta. The Joint Venture that was initiated on 2018, includes the creation of the Nara plant, the first one for Bostik in Japan. This new world-scale plant will enable the Bostik-Nitta JV to support the growing markets of diapers, hygiene, packaging, labelling, transportation and electronics.
The operations started last 14th of September 2020 and it represented a significant milestone for both Arkema & Bostik that will strengthen the Adhesive Technology development by supporting key customers in the region. It responds to the growth of its customers in the Japanese hygiene market by including several production lines dedicated to adhesives for the nonwoven market for hygiene applications, and to the industrial adhesives markets.
This investment is in line with Bostik’s and Arkema’s growth and geographical expansion strategy by developing innovative and sustainable solutions to be more responsive and improve customer intimacy in the Asian region.
