At Bostik Ireland, World Safety Day is an important opportunity for us to come together across all areas of the business, from our offices to our plant and warehouse teams, to reinforce one of our core values: safety in everything we do.

This year’s theme, Safe Driving, placed a strong spotlight on the everyday practices that keep our people protected, particularly in environments where machinery and movement are part of daily operations. It served as a timely reminder that safety is not just about policies, it’s about awareness, responsibility, and consistent action.

We were delighted to welcome Norman from ASL, who delivered an insightful and engaging talk focused on forklift safety. His session provided practical guidance, real-world examples, and valuable takeaways that our teams can apply immediately in their roles. It was a fantastic opportunity to refresh knowledge and deepen understanding of safe driving practices in the workplace.

Our Health & Safety Manager, Laura, also addressed the team, sharing her expertise and reinforcing the importance of staying vigilant. She highlighted how small, consistent actions, daily checks, clear communication, and adherence to procedures play a crucial role in preventing accidents and maintaining a safe working environment for everyone.

Forklift Demonstration & Recognition

A standout moment of the day was our forklift demonstration challenge. This event gave our licensed drivers the chance to showcase their skills on a specially designed course, testing precision, control, and safety awareness under pressure.

The level of professionalism on display was exceptional. Each participant demonstrated not only technical ability but also a deep understanding of safe operating practices—something that is essential to maintaining high safety standards across our sites.

We are proud to recognise the following individuals for their outstanding participation, dedication, and commitment to safe and precise forklift operation:

  • Conor Gannon
  • Damien Kirwan
  • John Bolger
  • Matthew Connolly
  • Paul Gannon
  • Serhii Prezhyn
  • Shane Keane
  • John Brauders
  • Karl Williams
  • Zakararia Loukh

Each participant was awarded a diploma in recognition of their efforts, and we congratulate them on setting a strong example for safety excellence within Bostik Ireland.

A Shared Responsibility

World Safety Day is a reminder that safety is not confined to one day or one initiative, it is a continuous commitment shared by every member of our team. Whether in the office, on the warehouse floor, or operating machinery, every action we take contributes to a safer workplace.

We are incredibly proud of the engagement and enthusiasm shown across all teams this year. By continuing to learn, support one another, and prioritise safe practices, we ensure that safety remains at the heart of everything we do.
