Mandela Day is an annual international day in honour of President Nelson Mandela, celebrated each year on 18 July, Mandela's birthday. Each year on 18 July we look back on what has been done, and forward to what will be done.
On Wednesday, 18 July members of the public built another fantastic #MandelaMosaic from food cans at Canal Walk shopping centre, Cape Town. Over 29 700 cans of food were donated for this project and they will be distributed to the grassroots organisations that LEAP Science and Maths Schools work with in various Cape Flats communities after the event. Making every day a Mandela Day celebrates Madiba’s life and legacy in a sustainable way that will bring about enduring change.
Bostik generously sponsored all the Prestik and stationery items used on the day. Our Bostik volunteers had a great time connecting with amazing people at the event and the energy and spirit of the community promised to be just as inspiring.
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
