Bostik has been honoured at the prestigious INDEX™ 26 Awards, the global benchmark for innovation in the nonwovens industry, held in Geneva every three years. Among a record number of entries, Bostik’s latest breakthrough – Kizen® Miles 9.0 – was recognised for its outstanding contribution to performance and sustainability in hygiene applications.

Advancing circularity in hygiene products

The nonwovens industry is facing increasing pressure to design products that are both high-performing and compatible with circular economy goals. One of the most critical challenges lies in the recycling of disposable absorbent hygiene products, which are typically composed of complex multi-layer structures.

Kizen® Miles 9.0 addresses this challenge head-on. It is the first adhesive specifically engineered to enable the controlled separation of components at the end of a product’s lifecycle.

Under specific conditions, combining a targeted chemical agent, controlled temperature and mechanical stress, the adhesive breaks down within minutes. This enables a clean and efficient separation of materials, preventing cross-contamination between plastics and supporting improved recycling processes.

Performance and sustainability, carefully balanced

Kizen® Miles 9.0 is designed to combine industrial performance with measurable environmental improvements. It provides reliable adhesion across key substrates such as PP, PE and PLA, with stable bonding performance even in humid conditions, ensuring consistency in high-speed manufacturing environments.

At the same time, its formulation incorporates up to 75% renewable materials. According to Bostik’s internal calculations, this contributes to a reduction in carbon footprint per kilogram of adhesive compared to fossil-based alternatives. By also enabling cleaner separation of materials at end-of-life, the product supports more efficient recycling processes for absorbent hygiene products, while maintaining the technical requirements expected by manufacturers.

Partnering for the future of hygiene

With Kizen® Miles 9.0, Bostik continues to push the boundaries of adhesive technology, supporting hygiene manufacturers worldwide in developing next-generation products that are both high-performing and future-ready.
