Major Upgrade to Arklow Powder Production Facility

The project scope included a full upgrade of the Arklow powder production facility, highlighted by the installation of a new automated bagging, palletising and stretch hooding line. This state-of-the-art system modernises key production processes, improving consistency, speed, and product handling across the site.
As part of the upgrade, Bostik has invested in new packaging equipment that automates previously manual processes. This investment will significantly increase operational efficiency, packaging capacity, and support expansion into both the Irish and UK markets.

Increased Manufacturing and Warehouse Capacity

The Arklow site has also seen a substantial expansion in overall production and ware capacity. The facility’s maximum ware capacity has increased from 12,000 tonnes to 20,000 tonnes, enabling higher throughput while maintaining the high product quality standards Bostik customers expect.
Daily material movement has also improved significantly. Previously, the site manually handled approximately 60 tonnes per day. With the introduction of automation and improved material flow systems, the facility can now move up to 90 tonnes per day, enhancing efficiency while reducing manual handling.

A key enhancement under the upgrade is the move to fully automated bagging, palletisation & stretch hooding. Where pallets were previously sealed manually, the new system ensures greater consistency, improved load stability, and compliance with top industry standards.
