What is Paneltack S system?
The Bostik Paneltack S system is a high-performance, silicone-based façade bonding solution developed specifically for Rockpanel® panels. It replaces visible mechanical fixings with a discreet, flexible adhesive bond that withstands the toughest outdoor conditions.
With its moisture-curing, MEKO-free formulation and proven compatibility with Rockpanel® façades, the system ensures safe, durable performance for ventilated cladding, fascias, soffits and canopies.

A complete bonding system

1. Simson® Liquid 1
Cleaner and degreaser for surface preparation
Bostik Liquid 1 is a non-aggressive cleaner for removing contaminants, fresh primer and adhesive residues. Used before priming, it ensures surfaces are clean, dry and ready for bonding — without affecting the finish of the cladding panel.
2. Simson® Prep CS
Fast, one-step surface activator
A single-step pre-treatment that improves adhesion on non-porous and coated substrates such as aluminium, copper, steel and PVC. Prep CS cleans and activates the surface in one go, saving time on site and ensuring consistent bonding performance. Also suitable for pre-treating Rockpanel strips when bonding Rockpanel indirectly (via Rockpanel strips) onto a wooden subframe.
3. Primer Q
Polyurethane primer for porous surfaces
Primer Q is a solvent-free PU primer formulated to enhance adhesion on porous substrates like mineral fibre panels. Applied with a brush or roller, it forms a strong, stable base layer before adhesive application.
4. Foamtape
Spacer and temporary fixation tape
A double-sided adhesive foam tape designed to hold panels in place until the adhesive cures. It ensures the correct 3mm adhesive thickness for optimum movement absorption, providing consistent results across every façade.
5. S970 Paneltack S
Highly elastic cladding adhesive
The core of the system — a moisture-curing, MEKO-free silicone adhesive engineered for bonding Rockpanel® panels. It combines long-term flexibility with excellent mechanical strength, ensuring durable performance in all weather conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Paneltack S is specifically developed for pressed mineral wool panels and is CE-approved for use with Rockpanel®. For other panel materials, different Bostik systems may be required.
No. When bonding pressed mineral wool panels, manufacturers typically require bonding to Rockpanel® strips that are mechanically fixed to the timber, rather than directly to the timber.
The normal curing time of Primer Q is 2 hours at 20°C and a relative air humidity of 50%. At lower temperatures, curing will take longer. Always check the curing time in colder weather conditions and never bond onto a primer that has not fully cured.
Foamtape automatically controls the bond line to approximately 3mm, which is essential for the adhesive to absorb panel movement and maintain long-term elasticity.
The open time is typically around 10 minutes, depending on temperature and humidity. Panels should be positioned and pressed into place within this window. In very warm weather conditions, the open time should be checked and the working method adjusted accordingly (for example, working quickly and applying adhesive for one panel at a time).
Treat with Simson® Prep CS or a washprimer depending on the specification. Allow the required drying time before applying Foamtape and adhesive.
A ventilated façade requires a minimum 20mm air cavity with uninterrupted airflow from top to bottom. Attention should be given to the air entrance at the bottom, the exit at the top, and sufficient spacing around window frames. Adequate ventilation prevents moisture accumulation and panel deformation.
No. Once a panel is pressed onto the Foamtape, it cannot be repositioned without removing and re-bonding it.
