Finger Joint Adhesives
Meet Finger Joint Performance Requirements
Our experts understand the finger joints are used across engineered wood and mass timber applications to create longer boards, panels or beams from smaller pieces of wood. Therefore, we’ve designed a broad range of finger joint adhesives to meet varied end-use application requirements. This range includes a two-part, emulsion polymer isocyanate (EPI), two-part system based on 100% reactive polyurethane (PEP) and a single-component, moisture cure polyurethane technology (MAX). Depending on the engineered wood product or mass timber product you’re designing, our finger joint adhesives can be formulated to meet the following codes:
- CSA O112.9 standards for resistance to aspects such as compression loading, delamination, deformation under static shear loading in heat and humidity
- ANSI-405 standards for strength, aging and moisture resistance, specifically:
- ASTM D2559
- ASTM D1151
- ASTM D7247
- CSA O112.10 B2 Creep
- CSA O112.9 BDF
- ASTM D1183
- CSA O177 Small-Scale Glulam Burn
- ANSI A190.1 and CSA O122 standards for structural glued laminated timber
Additionally, these finger joint adhesives for engineered wood and mass timber offer:
- High strength to keep products intact during assembly, transit and lifespan
- Excellent thermal stability to maintain performance in high temperatures
- Environmental resistance to humidity to help reduce swelling and warping
