Thermal and acoustic insulation for railcar manufacturers and rolling stock maintenance

Providing a comfortable, modern travel experience for your customers is paramount. Our performance thermal and acoustical insulation rail adhesives make it possible to quickly and effectively bond together the foam and foil layers needed to insulate rail passengers against extreme temperatures and excessive noise.

Our thermal and acoustical insulation product range provides you with a broad choice of application methods and adhesive characteristics, while maintaining at its core the reliability and durability found in all our railcar adhesives.

If you’d like to work with our engineers on designing your insulation systems, or want advice on the use of our products, contact our technical team today.

Thermal and acoustic insulation for railcar manufacturers: technologies

We know that modern rolling stock operating in extreme conditions or landscapes need sufficient insulation. In recognition of this challenge, we’ve created a range of durable and reliable custom adhesives to make bonding insulation layers a simple process, while demonstrating performance excellence in environmental tests.

Our thermal and acoustical insulation bonding range covers liquid, silyl modified polymer (SMP) and film products. These adhesives all possess industry-leading characteristics, with a special focus on the vital safety area of fire retardancy. And, with the new European fire safety standard, EN45545, coming into effect in 2017, this area is set to become even more important for railcar assembly.

Additionally, many adhesives within our range also meet and exceed the NFPA 130 standard for smoke, flame and toxicity for US-based railcar manufacturing.

So, if you want a range of reliable and durable adhesives that already meets future legislation, choose our thermal and acoustical insulation bonding solutions.

Thermal and acoustic insulation bonding for railcar manufacturers: applications

Thermal insulation protects passengers from high or low exterior temperatures, maintaining a balanced interior environment.

Acoustical insulation and barriers reduce noise from wheels, wind, and more, creating a smoother and more comfortable train experience.
