ISOSET™ Adhesives
Discover Our ISOSET Adhesive Portfolio Benefits
Our engineered wood and mass timber product portfolio is comprised of EPI, PEP and single-component, moisture cure polyurethane (MAX). The technologies offer optimized capabilities for specific end-use applications and can provide:
- High strength to increase wood utilization and performance confidence
- Resistance to moisture and temperature fluctuations to reduce warping, delamination or degradation
- Wood substrate bonding versatility
- Color neutrality by maintaining a wood-colored bond line to aid in overall aesthetics
- Low VOC, 100% reactive formulations to improve worker safety and reduce overall carbon emissions
Our ISOSET Engineered Wood Adhesives
Structural wood applications can have varied requirements based on building specifics. Therefore, our experts have designed a broad, commercial engineered wood adhesive portfolio to help you find a product that fits your specific needs.
Our ISOSET water-based, two-part emulsion polymer isocyanate (EPI) adhesives produce durable, moisture resistant bonds, allowing them to be specified for I-joist, finger joints, structural foam core panels, structurally insulated panels, millwork, hardwood flooring and more.
Our ISOSET UX-100 series are 100% reactive, polyurethane emulsion polymer (PEP) adhesives that offer fast green strength and excellent bonding properties for applications such as finger joints and other applications that require no preparation needed, including butt joints.
Our ISOSET single-component, moisture cure polyurethane (MAX) adhesives require no mixing to assist in production efficiencies and work well on cold wood products
Additionally, because these products offer high strength, their formulations can allow you to use less wood or more cost-effective wood without sacrificing end-use application performance. In this way, you can help reduce your engineered wood manufacturing overall costs.
Is ISOSET right for your engineered wood application needs?
Featured ISOSET Engineered Wood Adhesives
The following featured adhesives can work well for your engineered wood products; however, our experts will work with you to determine which product from our portfolio is right for you.
ISOSET WD3-A322 CX47
This EPI, two-component, water-based polyurethane adhesive for I-joists and finger joints, offers fast, ambient curing, excellent creep, shearing and tensile properties as well as high moisture and humidity resistance. It also is associated with specific approvals, such as ITK-77560 for fire door components.
ISOSET UX-100/WD3-A322
Our PEP, two-component polyurethane adhesive provides fast, ambient green strength with complete cure in eight hours and facilitates finger joining and prep-free web-to-web butt joints.
ISOSET MAX 1000 series
These single-component, moisture cure polyurethanes offer 7–80-minute assembly times with fast strength build and meet North American industry code and burn requirements; finger joint formulations are available as well.
Our ISOSET Mass Timber Adhesives
Our experts recommend ISOSET MAX for CLT and glulam applications, though some of our EPI adhesives offer suitable capabilities as well. In addition to meeting stringent building code requirements alongside high strength and environmental protection, our mass timber adhesives offer an excellent, balanced ratio of working time to press time compared to alternative options on the market. This helps you meet your desired working time and keep associated press time to a minimum.
Further, our MAX mass timber adhesives offer ambient curing by utilizing the moisture in the wood and production environment. This helps reduce energy usage, because no post-cure heating is required.
How else can our ISOSET mass timber adhesives help you?
Featured ISOSET Mass Timber Adhesives
We recommend our ISOSET MAX 1000 series for CLT and glulam mass timber products. These single-component, moisture cure polyurethanes meet North American industry code and burn requirements and offer:
- 7–80-minute assembly times
- Fast strength build
- No mixing required
