Web Adhesive Technology

Bostik uses web adhesive technology in particular to create textile adhesive products. These webs are hot melt adhesive products that have been converted into a non-woven material that handles like fabric.

Polyamide, polyester and polyurethane polymers are used to produce a variety of these webs, which are then used as a textile adhesive product to bond fabrics together.

Assembly Adhesives - Featured Products

Bostik’s line of web adhesive products that work well for textile applications are standard web adhesives and Sharnet® web adhesives.

Standard web adhesives

These are made in a fine filament pattern that offers good textile hand and uniform adhesive coverage. They offer a lightweight, durable solution to bond materials together in the assembly market.

Sharnet web adhesives

These textile adhesive products are unique to Bostik. These webs are produced through a foam fibrillation method that creates a coarser web pattern.

Additionally, these polymer blends combine the properties of two or more polymer types as well as additives to achieve desired web characteristics. For example, Sharnet web adhesives can have fire retardancy added into them, adding overall safety to the textile adhesive product.
