Bostik, a leading global adhesive specialist for industrial, construction and consumer markets, is proud to sponsor regional winner Team Green Economy (G.Eco) from Glasgow, Scotland at this year’s Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge.

This international competition requires student team members to work together to build a radio-controlled, four-wheel-drive vehicle that can successfully navigate a test track as demanding as real, off-road situations. In addition to designing custom, mecanum wheels for increased movement capabilities, Team Green Economy (G.Eco) opted to take their device even further for the competition.

“We wanted to build our design around something that is the green economy, which means sustainable development and friendly for the environment,” said Megan Toney, Team Manager. Incorporating sustainable development into their vehicle concept, they manufactured the chassis out of paper mache in the shape of a gecko, given the team’s acronym, G.Eco. Building their entire brand around the green economy and the gecko concept, they earned the best-engineered car and portfolio award this year. As regional winners in their vehicle class, they will go on to compete the Nationals later this year.
