At the European Coatings Show, Bostik launches new Vitel 2475 copolyester resin for interior can coating applications: a high-performing, BPA-free alternative to epoxy-based can coatings.

Bostik, a leading global adhesive specialist for industrial, construction and consumer markets, is looking forward to the European Coatings Show 2019 (ECS), March 19 through 21, at the NürnbergMesse convention center in Nuremberg, Germany.

At ECS, Bostik will be a co-exhibitor on Arkema’s stand 4A.313, with staff on hand to greet visitors and discuss the latest technology. One Bostik product will be introduced to the market for the first time at ECS, the new Vitel® 2475 copolyester resin. Show attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about V2475 during a product presentation done by Bostik Chemist Josh Harju on March 21.

More than 30,000 attendees and 1,100 exhibitors are expected at ECS 2019, looking to experience and learn about the latest technologies in the paint and coatings industries. The biennial exhibition is the largest event dedicated to this market and opens its doors to paint, coating, adhesive and sealant formulators; additive and construction chemical product producers; industrial processors; and science and research professionals from all over the world.

The new V2475 copolyester resin was developed as a safe alternative to epoxy-based can coatings that typically contain BPA (Bisphenol A). Unlike other copolyester-based resins on the market, V2475 delivers the stability, protection and flexibility required by food packaging suppliers and meets or exceeds safety requirements for cap and interior can coating applications. As a binder, the retortable V2475 copolyester delivers improved heat and chemical resistance. It can be used with alcohol products greater than 8% ABV, allowing for coatings that can safely protect hard-to-handle foods through aggressive sterilization cycles.

The ECS show will be the first time Bostik will present the Vitel 2475 copolyester resin, when Josh Harju gives a presentation about it as part of the ECS commercial presentation series. On Thursday, March 21, at 9:50am, in hall 9 on stand 9-544, attendees can learn about V2475 and the high performance it can bring to BPA-NI can and cap coatings.
