Fixed Windows and Windshields
How Our Marine Sealants Improve Production Efficiency
Our SMP sealants for marine windshields and fixed windows can help you increase output by offering:
- Fast cure time: Our SMP solutions for marine windshields and fixed windows are formulated with fast green strength; this allows them to form strong bonds quickly so that your windshields and fixed windows can be ready for in-field use with minimal delay.
- Primerless adhesion to glass: In addition to SKU reduction opportunities, our SMPs’ primerless adhesion helps you decrease marine production steps, error likelihood and associated downtime.
- Easy tooling: Our marine sealants offer consistency that allows them to be easily toolable so you can create desired sealant bead shape.
How Our Marine Sealants Contribute to High Quality Finished Products
Our SMP sealants for marine windshields and fixed windows meet high performance specifications by offering:
- Ability to reduce premature adhesive degradation: When glass doesn’t have a bonding frit, our marine sealants can be used with Simson Prep G plus; this is a blackout primer we offer that helps reduce degradation when UV exposure is magnified. It is designed to prolong durability in windshields and fixed windows.
- UV stability: Our marine windshield and fixed window sealants maintain bond and seal properties even after extended sun exposure and do not discolor.
- Flexibility: Our SMPs are flexible elastomers that can account for expansion and contraction without breaking or cracking.

Featured Marine Fixed Windshields and Windows Products
Our recommended marine sealants for windshields and fixed windows include:
70-08A: This product offers primerless adhesion to glass, good UV and aging resistance as well as neutral and odorless curing. Its high green strength and tack can allow for immediate transit after installation.
- Our 70-08A AP product offers faster initial green strength build comparatively, if needed.
70-03A: Solvent and PVC-free, this marine sealant provides high green strength, good workability and primerless adhesion.
940A: Recommended for acrylic windows, this product has a long open time to accommodate large volume application needs. It is formulated without isocyanates or solvents and offers UV resistance (non-yellowing) as well as high and low temperature resistance. 940A also provides excellent adhesion to porous and non-porous surfaces often without the use of a primer.
Simson Prep G Plus: This black primer is specifically designed for the ceramic band on glass; it creates a barrier against UV rays to protect the adhesive from degradation potential. This product can also be used as an adhesion promoter.
