The site project consisted of 6 residential towers with a total of 362 units and commercial / retail at ground level.
The construction company required a company that was well versed and had the manpower and experience to waterproof all the wet areas of the residential units .In addition there were open rooftop open area’s that incorporated gardens and recreational grassed area’s for residents.
Three different membrane systems were needed.
- Internal and external tiled wet areas
- Exposed membrane required for outdoor light foot trafficable areas
- Under garden and planter box membrane
The Class 3 waterproofing membrane, Dampfix Gold Grey was used on the balcony and podium areas, covered by tiles. This product provides superior application with the benefit of a single film from the liquid applied membrane rather than potential gaps in the sheeting.
Class 2 Dampfix 3 was used as a 2 coat system on exposed areas where utilities such as air conditioning units were placed.
Bostik Bitumous waterproofing membrane system was applied in planter boxes and prior to a drainage system and grass was positioned on exposed roof top areas. All areas used Bostik waterproofing systems including Bostik primers, silicones and sealants.
Smartcote through their past experience in similar projects and their previous knowledge of the Bostik systems carried out the project as outlined in the Bostik TDS and to Australian waterproofing standards.
