Brands and countries

First, thank you for your time, Anna. Please tell us about yourself. What is your background and your area of expertise? What brought you to Bostik?

I’m a technical engineer and I started at Bostik as a Quality Manager of the factory in 2008. I came to Bostik looking for a better quality of life.

And your career at Bostik? Please give us a picture of where you’ve worked and what projects you have been involved in, and perhaps two or three of your Bostik career highlights so far.

As I explained before, I started at Bostik as the factory Quality Manager. When the factory closed in 2012, I changed to the technical department. One of the highlights of my career at Bostik has been my participation in the creation of the Bostik Academy in Spain.

What does your role as Technico entail? Describe to us your typical week.

In the technical department we are responsible for answering customer and sales enquiries and giving advice. It also includes providing training to anyone who needs it, whether they are internal or external to Bostik. We carry out customer tests and samples and create content relating to the correct installation of our products. Actually every week is different, it depends a lot if we have to prepare a training in the Bostik Academy, do tests or record videos of applications or webinars

Tell us about some of the innovations and trends in the area of adhesives technology that Bostik has driven in the past in the Spanish market

Bostik was one of the first companies in Spain to introduce a high-tack hybrid adhesive and now all brands have it in their range.

Please give us an overview of the Bostik Academy. What is it all about? What is its purpose, and who is it aimed at?

For us, the Bostik Academy is a philosophy. It is a training centre, but it also includes our van, which we use to bring our training to the point of sale (i.e. construction sites), and a website where all our online webinars and product videos can be accessed. In addition, all our salespeople and technicians are involved in training our customers.

The Bostik Academy describes all the ways we train our customers.

What benefits does the Academy hold for not only users of Bostik products but also the wider construction industry in Spain?

Bostik Academy offers training on solutions to problems with Bostik products but often these solutions are applicable to other brands, thus helping to solve problems encountered on construction sites. Our clients never feel alone when faced with problems or doubts regarding Bostik products.

What is your personal involvement with the Academy? How long have you been involved?

The Bostik Academy in Spain was established in January 2022, and I have been involved from the start. I contributed in the creation of this concept of both the website and the training center.

I’m responsible for the Bostik Academy in S&B and I work together with Alberto Torres, who is in charge of the W&F part. Practically all our work is focused on Bostik Academy (making trainings, applications etc.).

Anna, thank you so much for your time. We wish you all the best, and continued success!
