Project overview
The headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis is located on the Warandeberg: a unique location in the heart of
Brussels. It is a substantial building with 5 underground and 7 above-ground floors, with a capacity of
around 4,500 workstations and a gross floor area of 103,500 m2.
Brussels. It is a substantial building with 5 underground and 7 above-ground floors, with a capacity of
around 4,500 workstations and a gross floor area of 103,500 m2.
The building is equipped with high-quality materials and the latest technologies. These materials and technologies include the installation of solar panels on the roof and seasonal thermal energy storage (STES) in the basement. They enhance working comfort and allow for optimization of environmental performance. All of this contributes to achieving the sustainability certificates of BREEAM 'Excellent' and 'Passive House.'
The collaboration with Bostik
Xavier Ortiz, Key Account Manager and construction technician at Bostik in Belgium, explains why this project is so important to us. In addition to the location in the center of Brussels and in the heart of Europe, the scale of the project makes it exceptional: over 55,000 m² of floor space that required the installation of carpet tiles. For the installation of these carpet tiles, the company NDS SPRL, located in Waterloo and specialized in laying flooring on technical floors, was quickly chosen.Bostik FIX A760 TECH
For this project, the decision was made to work with FIX A760 TECH by Bostik, a tackifier that is perfectly suitable for application on a technical floor. The biggest challenge with a technical floor is that it must remain permanently accessible. The carpet tiles that are glued to it must, therefore, be easily removed and repositioned. That is precisely the strong point of BOSTIK carpet adhesive FIX A760 TECH: the tiles can be removed multiple times without the adhesive losing its strength. Moreover, this carpet adhesive is easy to apply with a roller and has a very short waiting time. Additionally, a tackifier supports the circularity of the floor, making it easier to recover and recycle after its lifespan.
