Façade cladding adhesives are used for façade cladding, fascias, soffits, canopies and parapets. Each façade cladding panel system has its own characteristics, which can influence adhesive selection. Choose the adhesive according to the cladding panel and its installation requirements. One bonding system cannot cover every façade application.
Why façade cladding needs a panel-specific adhesive approach
Different panel materials place different demands on the adhesive once fixed to the façade. The adhesive profile must support the way the panel behaves in use, from movement to mechanical load.
The adhesive modulus plays an important role in this choice. A panel that requires stress distribution needs an adhesive profile that can manage movement within the bonding system. A panel that places higher mechanical demand on the system needs an adhesive with the right strength profile. A mismatch can affect façade performance, panel stability or the intended appearance of the façade cladding.
Bostik works closely with major façade cladding panel manufacturers to match adhesive systems to specific cladding panels. Detailed installation instructions are available for a number of panel systems, with information linked to the panel concerned. This approach gives professionals clearer guidance for product selection and application, based on the façade design and the panel requirements.
How wall panels behave in real façade conditions
Façade panels do not all react in the same way once fixed to the façade. Their individual characteristics influence which adhesive system should be selected. For façade cladding, this means the adhesive profile should match the panel material, the support structure and the installation instructions linked to that panel.
This is where the choice between a hard elastic adhesive (high modulus) and a softer elastic adhesive becomes important. Bostik H975 Paneltack HM is a moisture-curing elastic adhesive with high modulus, developed for fibre cement boards, natural stone, thin ceramic tiles with fibre mesh backing and aluminium composite cladding panels. Bostik H970 Paneltack is a moisture-curing, highly elastic adhesive developed for bonding HPL cladding panels, including large size HPL panels. This distinction helps you connect façade cladding panel behaviour with the adhesive performance required on the façade.
When high modulus bonding is needed
Some façade cladding panels require a strong, high modulus elastic adhesive with excellent mechanical strength. For these applications, a high modulus adhesive can provide strong mechanical performance and help distribute strain across the adhesive system. H975 Paneltack HM is designed for this type of requirement, with excellent mechanical strength, good moisture and weather resistance, and long-lasting high elasticity with optimum distribution of strain.
When high elasticity supports panel movement
Some wall panels require a highly elastic adhesive that helps to relieve the load on the panel and distribute stress within the bonding system. HPL cladding panels are a good example. For this type of panel, the adhesive should combine mechanical strength with long-term elasticity and optimum stress distribution.
For HPL cladding panels, H970 Paneltack provides long term high elasticity with optimum stress distribution, good moisture and weather resistance, plus simple, fast fixation. This type of solution can also be suitable for larger sizes of HPL panels on aluminium profiles or timber battens.

What to check before specifying a façade cladding adhesive
Before specifying a façade cladding adhesive, check the panel type first. Then review the application area and the relevant installation instructions.
Façade cladding, fascias, soffits, canopies and parapets can each involve specific installation requirements, so the adhesive choice and other details such as joint dimensions and support structure design should follow the panel manufacturer’s instructions. For wider guidance on the bonding process and exterior façade applications, read our article on bonding exterior wall cladding.
A wide variety of façade cladding panel systems are available, each with its own characteristics. This is why the adhesive system should be matched to the specific cladding panel. For example, HPL cladding panels require a different adhesive profile from fibre cement boards or aluminium composite cladding panels.
Review application temperature early in the project. Check the safety documentation and relevant certifications at the same stage. These checks help ensure the adhesive choice is based on the panel type, the installation requirements and the expected use of the complete façade system.
Supporting durable façade cladding with the right system
H970 Paneltack and H975 Paneltack HM cover different cladding needs within the Paneltack system. Used with the relevant panel installation instructions, they help create a bonded façade system suited to the selected wall cladding panel.
