Application
The following steps apply generally to BOSTIK’s Hybrid Sealant products. For definitive instructions, refer to the specific TDS for the product you have selected.
- Apply between +5 and +40 degrees Celsius using a suitable caulking gun.
- Cut the nozzle of the cartridge (or sausage) to the desired bead size and place it firmly on the tip of the cartridge.
- Apply the sealant with moderate pressure to the nozzle.
- Apply in a continuous operation using positive pressure to the bottom of the joint to properly fill and seal the joint.
- When applying the sealant, take care to avoid air entrapment and overlapping.
- It is highly recommended to consume opened cartridges and sausages the same day they are opened.
- Tool the sealant using a wooden spatula (or a dry tool with a concave profile) and smooth the fresh skin of the sealant bead with BOSTIK T500 Finishing Soap before the skin forms.
- Do not use water or soapy water for smoothing.
