Arkema announces the participation of its adhesive division Bostik in PRESERVE

Thanks to a combination of deep-rooted knowledge of life-cycle analysis, gained under the drive of Arkema, and extensive experience in collaborating with industry and research partners to develop adhesive solutions that contribute to circular packaging practices, Bostik has gained its place alongside 25 top industry and academic players from nine European countries.

Bostik will work on the lamination process of bio-sourced films, using a mostly bio-sourced based adhesive. The resulting product will need to be compatible with the delamination process (i.e. separation of multiple layers of material in multilayer packaging) while protecting the content of the packaging.

Building on award-winning upcycling strategies from past and on-going projects, PRESERVE will aim to offer a broad range of end of life options, materials, flexible and rigid packaging types, as well as compatibility with different processes. This should ensure that PRESERVE results are relevant to more than 60% of the plastic packaging on the market, which long term substitution potential maximised thanks to the participation of several leading companies in the consortium.
