Bostik is closely monitoring, on a worldwide basis, the situation linked to the energy crisis, its availability, risks and price evolution, in order to anticipate disruptions in our Supply Chain and Operations.
In the past few months, energy prices have heavily increased to unprecedented levels, and the risk of supply, especially for wintertime, are growing considerably. As part of Arkema, Bostik counts with a fully dedicated team focused on energy management and our Industrial teams are mobilized through ‘Energy crisis’ groups.
As such, Bostik is closely monitoring, on a worldwide basis, the situation linked to the energy crisis, its availability, risks and price evolution. Bostik will inform you about the evolution of the situation so that you can plan your supply chain and minimize the impacts. Accordingly, we recommend that (a) you provide us an increased visibility on your orders forecast and (b) you place firm orders as soon as practicable. All these actions are well aligned with our sustainability strategy and targets. Even with all the above actions, cost of energy and gas continue to skyrocket and all estimations are that it will continue during winter to levels not seen since the 70’s. In parallel, several of our key raw materials as cement, polymers, cartridges and others are highly energy intensive, driving frequent surcharges and price increases from suppliers recently.
Despite our best efforts to postpone and to absorb the sharp increases, we are obliged to take further measures to be able to preserve supply to our valuable partners during autumn and winter period.
Starting on Monday, October 3rd 2022, Bostik Construction and Consumer will apply an energy surcharge on all its products manufactured in Europe, varying from +4% to +8%, depending on the country and product portfolio. Of course, we are monitoring the global situation in a rapidly evolving environment and will keep you informed in case of any changes. In the meantime, your regular contact person at Bostik will soon communicate to you the precise energy surcharge for your country.
