KEY BENEFITS

  • Relieve tensions caused by shear and tensile movements between the substrate and floor covering.
  • Stabilizes installation over critical or "moving" subfloors, reducing the risk of surface cracking.
  • Easy to cut and install, allowing for rapid project progression and minimal waste.
  • Very low emissions (EC 1 PLUS certified), ensuring a safer environment and superior indoor air quality.

Performance & stress management

The fleece absorbs and distributes movement within the substrate, helping to reduce stress transfer to the finished floor. Its tensile strength and elongation properties support decoupling, improving the long-term performance of bonded flooring systems.

Application versatility

Suitable for a wide range of substrates including concrete, screeds, timber, tiles and metal surfaces, RENO U750 FLEECE supports multiple flooring applications. It can be used beneath hardwood flooring, ceramic tiles, natural stone and levelling compounds, and is compatible with underfloor heating systems.

Installation method

Supplied in 50 m² rolls, the fleece is cut to size and bonded onto the substrate using appropriate adhesives. It is embedded into fresh adhesive layers and pressed firmly to ensure full contact. Depending on the system used, flooring installation can typically proceed after approximately 24 hours.

System integration

RENO U750 FLEECE integrates into flooring systems using tile adhesives, MS or PU adhesives, and levelling compounds. For soft floor coverings, a levelling compound layer may be applied over the fleece prior to installation.

Handling & storage

The product is easy to cut and install on site, supporting efficient handling across large areas. It offers a shelf life of up to 24 months when stored in original packaging in cool, dry conditions.

Application process: RENO U750 FLEECE

Quick Application Steps (On-Site Guide)

  • Prepare: Ensure subfloor is clean, level, dry and correctly primed
  • Adhesive: Apply suitable adhesive evenly using correct trowel
  • Install: Lay fleece into wet adhesive and press firmly
  • Secure: Smooth out and re-roll after ~20 minutes
  • Finish: Install flooring or levelling layer after ~24 hours

1. Subfloor preparation

Substrate condition is critical for decoupling performance:

  • Surface must be structurally sound, dry and free from dust, grease and contaminants
  • Remove weak layers, old adhesives and surface treatments mechanically
  • Vacuum thoroughly to eliminate loose material
  • Dense or smooth substrates should be mechanically abraded and cleaned
  • Uneven surfaces must be levelled using an appropriate primer and smoothing compound
  • Weak or dusty substrates may require consolidation prior to installation

All substrates must comply with site requirements before application.

2. Installation preparation

  • Roll out the fleece and cut to size using scissors or a sharp knife
  • Position material perpendicular to the final floor covering direction where applicable
  • Fold back sections to allow adhesive application in stages
  • Select appropriate adhesive depending on flooring type (tile adhesive, MS or PU)
  • Apply adhesive evenly with the correct notched trowel

Important: Ensure consistent adhesive coverage to achieve full bonding.

3. Installation

  • Lay the fleece into the fresh adhesive bed without creasing
  • Press firmly across the entire surface, paying attention to seams and edges
  • Use a roller or trowel to ensure full contact with the substrate
  • Rework the surface after approximately 20 minutes to secure adhesion
  • Install in sections, repeating the process across the full area
  • Ensure joints are tight with no gaps or overlaps

Designed to absorb movement stresses and stabilise challenging substrates beneath floor finishes.

4. Drying & curing

  • Allow adhesive to cure before proceeding (~24 hours depending on system)

Typical next steps:

  • Tiles: install directly after curing
  • Wood flooring: bond once fleece is secure
  • Soft flooring: apply up to 5 mm levelling compound before installation

5. Underfloor heating

  • Switch off heating systems 48 hours before, during, and for at least 48 hours after installation
  • Gradually bring heating back to operating temperature after curing

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Installing onto uneven or inadequately prepared substrates
  • Poor adhesive coverage leading to incomplete bonding
  • Creating creases or trapped air beneath the fleece
  • Not re-rolling after initial placement
  • Leaving gaps between fleece sections
  • Exceeding adhesive open time before laying material
  • Applying outside recommended temperature range (+15°C to +30°C)
