Project overview
This project is located in Lima, Peru. The client, the University of Lima, commissioned its internal architectural team to refurbish a high-use common area: the campus cafeteria.
The redesign emphasized functional performance and user comfort, featuring double-height spaces, large glazed areas to maximize natural daylight, and interior and exterior cladding systems with wood-tone finishes.
BOSTIK PanelTack
Is a high-performance, moisture-curing adhesive based on advanced SMP (Silyl Modified Polymer) technology. It offers outstanding elasticity and durability, and has been specifically engineered for the reliable bonding of HPL (High Pressure Laminate) cladding panels in modern façade applications.
BOSTIK Paneltack primer
A versatile cleaner and primer designed for the preparation of façade and decorative panels. Suitable for use on the back of panels and mesh-backed GPTP, HPL, and ACM panels, it ensures optimal adhesion for both interior and exterior applications.
BOSTIK Paneltack Foamtape
A double-sided foam tape used to temporarily support cladding panels during adhesive curing. It also maintains the correct joint thickness for consistent application.
Bostik's solution
Bostik contributed to the bonding of High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) cladding systems, including Trespa panels installed on ventilated façade systems and interior ceilings. The chosen adhesive solution offered elastic behavior, long-term durability, and concealed fixation, ensuring compatibility with façade movement, thermal expansion, and the architectural requirements defined by the client.
In Chile, during 2025, we set the objective of introducing the PanelTack system into projects across South America.
Our client in Peru, Synthec Solution, enabled us to collaborate on the development of a boutique project.
The scope involved achieving invisible bonding of HPL panels from our partner Trespa, applied on a ventilated façade and interior wall claddings for the new cafeteria at the University of Lima—a project where material quality and proper installation were critical to delivering an outstanding final result.
For the installation of the HPL panels, the Bostik PanelTack system was used—a high-performance adhesive solution that enabled a secure, clean installation without visible mechanical fixings, contributing both to architectural aesthetics and on-site efficiency.
