Integrating more bio-based & lower CO2 materials
Our teams systematically search for ways to develop new products or improve existing products to deliver high performance with lower impact. We are continually expanding our portfolio of sustainable solutions, including those formulated with more bio-based raw materials to replace those deriving from fossil fuels. A growing number of our products and packaging incorporate recycled such as recycled plastic (PCR).
We are also optimizing our formulations and processes to use less materials or lower CO2 materials, helping to conserve our planet’s finite resources and reduce our products’ carbon footprint.
Enabling recycling and circularity
Bostik explores every opportunity to minimize impact throughout the life of our products. Through product design, life cycle assessment, and the development of partnerships with the value chain and recyclers, our goal is to minimize waste, optimize the use of resources and retain products and materials in the use loop. This means:
- Using more recycled, recyclable or compostable content, including in our packaging
- Transforming waste into valuable raw materials
- Developing products that are stronger, more durable and have more coverage
- Using less materials to make lighter products and packaging and save resources during production, transport and use
- Improving end-of-life management
- Extending products lifespan through repairability
Never compromising on health and safety
Safety is our priority. Our teams are continuously innovating to design solutions with a lower impact on health, developing solvent-free formulations and reducing hazardous substances and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Many of our products have been awarded the EC1Plus M1 or A+ labels. Products awarded with these labels have ultra-low VOC emissions and comply with very stringent health and environmental requirements.
