Adhesive Application Methods At a Glance

When it comes to application methods for core adhesives, you have options! The multi-slot pattern (also known as a combed-slot pattern) and spray pattern are commonly used in the disposable hygiene industry. When weighing your options, it is important to note the following:

• Multi-slot
  This adhesive application method offers more coverage and a thinner adhesive layer than what spray methods deliver. The multi-slot method also results in greater core integrity, as the adhesive applied can withstand significantly more abuse from the movements of daily life.

• Spray
  While still an effective option, the spray method delivers fewer drops of the core adhesive. Because the contact area with the core is reduced compared to that of the multi-slot, core integrity is not as strong when the spray method is used.

Regardless of the adhesive application method, acquisition and rewet are not impacted.
